Shevchenko University needs help!
During the missile attack by Russian terrorists on the Ukrainian capital on the last day of the year, December 31, the Exhibition Campus of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, near the “Exhibition Center” metro station was damaged. Students and graduates of KNU know this place well because it is there where the Admissions Committee of the university is located. Everyone started their student history there.
As a result, the buildings of the faculties located there: geography, mechanics and mathematics, radio physics, electronics and computer systems, psychology, sociology, the Institute of High Technologies, as well as the sports complex and some dormitories of the campus, suffered extreme damage.
The university states that this time the damage caused by the fall of the missile will be many times greater than the damage suffered by the university during the massive rocket attack on Kyiv on October 10, 2022. That time when the buildings of the Main (Red) and Yellow buildings, the Scientific Library named after M. Maksymovych were damaged, chemical faculty, as well as the greenhouse of the Botanical Garden named after O. Fomin.
On the first day of the new year, January 1, the family of Shevchenko University gathered together to start cleaning the buildings and the broken glass on the territory as soon as possible and cover broken windows with window film and plywood to protect the premises and laboratory equipment from cold and precipitation.
Further restoration will require significant forces and financial resources. It will be difficult for the university to cope, so they appealed to everyone who cares to support the institution during this difficult time.
Everyone who has the opportunity to participate in the reconstruction of buildings on the Exhibition Campus can make a charitable contribution https://knu.ua/ua/resources/online-payment/?fbclid=IwAR011UOm_Y-1VWYTY6BPTGXH6n-jndR1bjjkDZfOsrhQlt9vZ2o3R7xm6Uw
