Occupiers spread fakes about “sectarian Ukrainians”

Reading Time: 1 min

In Russia, Ukraine was accused of spreading many sects, called it a “totalitarian hypersect,” and declared the alleged need for “de-satanization”. Such statements were voiced by the assistant secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Aleksey Pavlov.

He accused Ukraine of forcing citizens to “give up Orthodox values.” He noted that the number of followers of religious sects has been increasing in our country since the 1990s. At the same time, in his opinion, it was the Ukrainian authorities who forced people to join sects using network manipulation and psychotechnologies.

Pavlov’s statement was spread by Russian propaganda media on October 25, 2022.
