On March 19, 2019, the students of the senior classes of the School №1 of Kyiv got acquainted with the main groups of sources which the historians use to write works about the Holodomor.
Students, led by the Memorial staff, analyzed the content of archival materials. Due to the photocopies of documents, schoolchildren were able to visually familiarize themselves with historical documents.
Much time was devoted to the analysis of the diary of Oleksandra Radchenko, the Holodomor witness. The students heard the main milestones of the life of the author of the memoirs. Excerpts from the diary were illustrated by the archival photographs from the early 1930s, which display the life of the Ukrainian village during the Holodomor.
