On January 16, 2020, the students of educational complex “Potentsial” visited the Holodomor Museum. They performed traditional Ukrainian pupper theatre drama (vertep), sang carols, and wished everyone happy New Year.
The schoolchildrensang traditional Ukrainian koliadky (carols) and shchedrivky (New Year songs), and arranged vertep according to ancient rituals — with such heroes as Goat and Malanka.
The museum team met the children with gifts and candies.

The feast culture of Ukrainians has long history. The rituals were the methods of passing the human values — understandinf of good and evil, concsience, dignity, justice — from one generation to another. The calendar cycle regulated all spheres of life, work and leisure, and partially coincided with church liturgical year.
