Meeting with the teachers of the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv

On March 11, 2019, a meeting of the employees of the National Museum “Holodomor Victims Memorial” with the deputies of the school prefects of the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv was held.

The event, which took place at Gymnasium №290 of Kyiv, gathered about 50 teachers. Employees of the excursion and education department of the Holodomor Victims Memorial talked about the educational projects of the museum. All participants of the workshop received newsletters with the information about interactive workshops and lessons held for schoolchildren of different age groups by the museum.

Also, all those present received brochures created on the basis of the exhibition “We Were Killed Because We Were Ukrainians”. The brochure includes the most important information on the Holodomor-Genocide in a very easy way.

The staff of the Memorial emphasized the importance of getting children acquainted with the theme of the Holodomor-genocide from the young age. They also spoke on the work of the museum in this direction.

The main task of such meetings is the exchange of experience between teachers and the employees of the Memorial in order to provide an accessible presentation of the Holodomor theme for children of different age groups.

Recall that in November of last year the Memorial and the Ministry of Education held a seminar for teachers on the forms and means of studying the Holodomor in educational institutions.
