Metropolitan Epiphanius met with the head of the Holodomor Museum, Lesia Hasydzhak
On October 4, 2022, the Primate of the local Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Epiphany, met with the acting Director General of the National Museum of the Holodomor-Genocide, Lesia Hasydzhak. The meeting took place in the Metropolitan House on the territory of St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Monastery.
During the conversation, His Beatitude Bishop informed Lesia Hasydzhak that the parish of the Saint Andrew Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral in Washington (Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA) donated financial aid for the needs of the National Museum of the Holodomor-Genocide. Today, October 5, 2022, charitable assistance of one hundred thousand hryvnias was deposited into the museum’s charitable account and will be used to ensure the main statutory activities of our institution.
At the meeting, they also discussed the construction of the second stage of the National Museum of the Holodomor-Genocide. It is ongoing under the patronage of the President of Ukraine and financed from the state budget of Ukraine.
