On the occasion of International Human Rights Day, the educational team of the National Museum of the Holodomor Genocide has created a training “In Search of Law”. The moderator of the lesson was Olha Vyhodovanets. For 45 minutes, eighth-graders and a museum lecturer have been discussing human rights and explored the first code of inalienable human rights and freedoms, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The Holodomor Museum teaches to resist hatred and human rights violations, warns society against repeating the crime of genocide by accumulating and disseminating knowledge about the Holodomor.
During the training, the team of the museum helps children to understand contemporary human rights, enshrined in international and national law. As a result, children become aware of the dangers of indifference to discrimination and violation of freedoms.
At the training, the group also investigated human rights violations during the Holodomor, the genocide of the Ukrainian people. Knowledge of one of the greatest crimes in human history warns against its repetition and calls for the preservation of our rule of law.
