Online Discussion “Complex Topics in the Museum Space: Theories and Practices”

Donetsk Regional Museum of Local Lore held an online discussion “Complex Topics in the Museum Space: Theories and Practices.” The event was moderated by Dmytro Bilko, Scientific Secretary of the Donetsk Regional Museum of Local Lore.

Yana Horodnyak, head of the excursion and education department of the National Museum of the Holodomor Genocide, took part in an online discussion.

She shared her experience with visitors and focused on interacting with children and adolescents: “We are looking for different ways to overcome the stereotype that the Holodomor Museum is for adults only, [we are looking for—ed.] different ways of cooperation with teenagers and even children. Teachers are often afraid to bring children because they think we will show photos or footages from chronicles or talk about cannibalism, but in reality we are working on creating new workshops, interactive lessons, games,” Yana Horodniak said.
