Visit of Latvian officials to the “Holodomor Victims Memorial”

On October 13, the National Museum “Holodomor Victims Memorial” was visited by the delegation from the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Latvia.

The Memorial was attended by: the Minister of Justice LR – Dzintars Rasnacs , the Head of the Bureau of the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Latvia – Liga Adamsone, the Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Latvia – Irena Kucina. The delegation was accompanied by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia in Ukraine – Juris Poikans.

The guests of the museum attended tour in the Hall of Memory and explored the territory of the Memorial. The delegation honored the memory of Holodomor victims by lighting candles on the altar in the Hall of Memory.

The Saeima of the Republic of Latvia, in its Declaration from March 13, 2008, recognized the Holodomor as a deliberately committed genocide of the Ukrainian people.
