The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, threatened Ukraine with the capture of Kyiv. He said that Kyiv was “a Russian city where people have always thought and spoken in Russian”, so Russia would “return it”.

With such threats, Medvedev reacted to Ukraine’s plans to return Crimea, illegally annexed by the Russians.
