Rostyslav Ishchenko is a Russian political scholar, journalist, diplomat, writer, and publicist of Ukrainian origin. On March 1, 2014, he left for Russia and received citizenship there.

He wrote several books in which he spoke about the “need to exterminate Ukraine and Ukrainians.” These publications are banned in Ukraine. In Russia, he publicly opposes Ukrainian statehood and denies the existence of Ukrainian history and the Ukrainian language.

After the start of a full-scale war, he declared that the world would exist either the Russian Federation without Ukraine or Ukraine without the Russian Federation, saying that “together they feel cramped on Earth.”
