Volodymyr Zhoga – for his “merits” a monument was erected to him in Volnovakha
A monument to the occupier Volodymyr Zhoga, who died in the battles in this city on 5 March 2022, was opened in Volnovakha. Zhoga was the commander of an illegal armed formation – the so-called reconnaissance battalion “Sparta”, subordinate to the pseudo-republic “DNR”. Russian propaganda media talk about the heroism of the deceased occupier – they say he died when he covered the evacuation of civilians from the city.
The occupier was posthumously awarded the title of hero of the so-called “DNR” and “Hero of Russia”. In addition, one of the streets in Volnovakha was renamed after Volodymyr Zhoga, the Hero of Russia Street.
Volodymyr Zhoga, with the call sign “Vokha,” was born in 1993 in Donetsk. Since 2014, he fought against the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the side of the terrorists of the so-called “DNR”.
Although the occupiers now tell how they allegedly “evacuated people from the city”, in fact, they bombed Volnovakha from the very beginning of the large-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine. By mid-March 2022, when the terrorists of the pseudo-republics and the Russian military managed to capture the city, it was virtually in ruins. As Pavlo Kyrylenko, the head of the Donetsk regional military-civilian administration, said in March, “Volnovakha and its infrastructure as such a city no longer exists.”
However, representatives of the so-called “DNR”, despite the destruction in Volnovakha, after capturing the city, happily announced that they were allegedly “establishing life there”.
