      The museum is looking for a responsible specialist to work with unique historical materials. Your main role will be to ensure the safe preservation, accurate record-keeping and systematic organisation of documents and artefacts that bear witness to the tragic events of the past. This role is for someone who values order, pays close attention to detail and is keen to make a personal contribution to the preservation of the nation’s memory.

      What you’ll need to do:

      • To receive, record and organise the items in the museum’s collection.
      • To digitise documents and enter data into the Museum’s electronic record-keeping system.
      • To monitor compliance with temperature and humidity levels and the storage conditions for artefacts.
      • Prepare museum items for display in new exhibitions and displays.
      • To take part in carrying out stock-takes of museum artefacts.

      What we expect from a candidate:

      • Higher education in the humanities (history, museum studies, archival or library science).
      • At least one year’s experience in record-keeping in museums, archives or collections.
      • Attention to detail, systematic thinking and a high level of responsibility.
      • Confident use of a PC, and the ability to quickly learn how to work with specialised databases.
