Second-year pupils at the school in the village of Postavmuky

Second-year pupils and their teacher from the village of Postavmuki (Postav-Muka) in the Poltava region. The photograph was taken on 25 January 1933 (according to the caption on another copy of the photograph, which is kept by Viktor Mykolayovych Mozhchyl). On the back of the photograph provided is the inscription: ‘…in memory of our Year 2 class… the pupils who were there at the time and who have since passed away’.

A photograph from the family archive of Viktor Ivanovych Ivanenko, of Uzhhorod, son of Ivan Yosypovych Ivanenko (born 1924; pictured in the third row, third from the left, wearing an earflap hat). A witness to the Holodomor claimed that only half of the pupils pictured in the photograph survived the genocide.
