Dear friends, we have an urgent request: we are looking for a company to help us digitise criminal case files from the SBU archives.
Our partners, Cowater International, together with the Canada-Ukraine Foundation, have issued a call for proposals from qualified service providers for a comprehensive range of services relating to the digitisation of criminal case files (1932–1934) concerning rehabilitated and non-rehabilitated individuals, held in the collections of the Poltava Regional Branch of the Sectoral State Archive of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU Sectoral State Archive). This opportunity is being implemented as part of the ‘Support for the National Museum of the Holodomor-Genocide in Ukraine’ project, funded by Canada’s International Development – Global Affairs Canada.
What needs to be done: the contractor must ensure the preparation, insurance, and transport of archival materials; their secure storage and digitisation; the creation of metadata; quality control; and the transfer of digital copies to the Holodomor Museum and the SBU Archives. The collection comprises approximately 1,388 criminal case files (1932–1934, nearly 235,960 sheets), which will be digitised in accordance with TIFF archiving standards, with the work to be completed no later than 30 January 2027.
We invite applications from qualified companies with proven technical capability, experienced and skilled staff, and a track record of carrying out similar work, in particular, the digitisation of archive, library or museum collections.
