Dialogue organizers:
Holodomor Research Institute of the National Museum of the Holodomor-Genocide;
“The University of Education Management” of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine.
The public dialogue aims to promote the legacy of the great Holodomor genocide researcher James Mace, perpetuate his memory in public discourse and public space, discuss current issues of Holodomor research, and reflect it in the collective memory.
The event will be attended by public figures and researchers who knew J. Mace personally, as well as scholars and journalists. During the dialogue, it is expected that: Natalia Dziubenko-Mace, writer, poetess, member of The National Writers’ Union of Ukraine, publicist, will speak on “Russian propaganda and the truth about the Holodomor”; Professor Vasyl Marochko, who knew J. Mace personally, will speak on the contribution of American and Ukrainian researchers to the historiography and memorialization of the Holodomor;
sculptor, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Volodymyr Koren will present a project of an art object in honor of the national action “Light a Candle” initiated by J. Mace;
Director of the Holodomor Research Institute, Doctor of Historical Sciences Svitlana Markova, will present works published by the Holodomor Research Institute.
