Memorandum of cooperation with National Academy of Law of Ukraine
On February 2, 2021, the National Museum of the Holodomor Genocide and the National Academy of Law (Kharkiv) signed a memorandum of cooperation.
Olesya Stasiuk, Director General of the Holodomor Museum, says, “Establishing cooperation with educational and research institutions of Ukraine is an important component of the Museum’s strategy to disseminate the truth about the crime of genocide. The study of the Holodomor by legal scholars will contribute to the wider international recognition of the genocide of Ukrainians. We thank the National Academy of Law for its openness to cooperation and joint research.”
Together, institutions will
- conduct research on the history of the Holodomor as a genocide of the Ukrainian nation, its preconditions, causes, and consequences;
- organize scientific and practical events;
- exchange materials and publish the results of joint research;
- work on the formation of museum and library funds to restore and preserve the national memory of the Holodomor and the crimes committed by the communist totalitarian regime.
The National Academy of Law of Ukraine is the branch scientific institution of Ukraine. Its main tasks are the development of law study, basic and applied research in the field of state and law, scientific support of law-making activities of state bodies, study and generalization of mechanisms for implementing legislation, as well as promoting legal information, legal awareness, development of legal education in Ukraine.
