Children’s Art Contest “MEMORY OF THE FUTURE”
The National Museum of the Holodomor Genocide announces the Children’s Art Contest “MEMORY OF THE FUTURE,” dedicated to the 86th Anniversary of the 1932–33 Holodomor in Ukraine. The project was launched to honor the memory of the Holodomor victims. Its mission is to disseminate knowledge about the tragic pages of our country’s history, prevent the crime of genocide in the future, promote self-identification, protect human rights, combat discrimination and human rights violations.
Topics of the Contest are
- “The Holodomor. Pages of History”
- “Memory of the Country is the Memory of the Family”
- “Heritage are Spirit and Power”
- “Human Rights are National Rights”
- Any topic related to the idea of the project
Anyone aged from 6 to 17 years could participate the Contest.
The Contest will be held in three nominaions for three age categories: 6–9, 10–13, 14–17 years.
Prize fund of the Contest was UAH 10,000.
Thechiques and genres of the works accepted: drawing, painting, graphics, cutout, poster, applique, collage, sideboard (hand-drawn story), computer graphics and any other 2D technique.
In order to participate in the Contest, one had to apply till July 1, 2019, by filling in the Registration Form or by sending it to the e-mail [email protected] accordingly to the conditions given in Contest Regulations.
The exhibition was opened and the winners were announced on November 7, 2019, at the National Museum of the Holodomor Genocide (3 Lavrska Street, Kyiv).

- Yuliia Kotsur, Candidate of Historical Sciences, head of Information and Publishing Department of the Holodomor Museum.
On November 7, 2019, the exhibition was opened and the winners were announced.
