The National Museum “Holodomor Victims Memorial” and the branch of the Museum, the Holodomor Research Institute, together with the Human Rights Organization “Memorial” of Vasyl Stus, the Omelian Kovch Non-Governmental Organization, started the project “Books for 100 Universities and Libraries of Ukraine. Struggle for Consciousness”. The project is aimed at replenishing scientific libraries with modern scientific and popular science editions about the history of the twentieth century, including the genocide of the Ukrainian nation — the Holodomor of 1932–1933
All books submitted are rare editions, non-sales encyclopedic literature. All books have a Ukrainian patriotic orientation, were designed to fight for consciousness, first and foremost, the consciousness of the youth, which forms the national Ukrainian elite. “Victory is not born on the battlefield but in schools and universities” with this motto the project moves across Ukraine, revealing the truth about different chronological periods of Ukrainian history. Most of the publications reveal the truth about the Holodomor, genocide of the Ukrainian nation, and destroy the long-rooted “Soviet” stereotypes.
The project was implemented during April to June 2019.
