During this educational session, you will learn about life in the city during the Holodomor, using Kyiv as an example.
Were the people of Kyiv supplied with food, and were all residents in the same situation? Why did Ukrainians from the villages move to the city, and what were they hoping for? What was Kyiv like in 1933 – a place of salvation or a place where hope was lost? Together, we will wander the streets of Kyiv, observe the everyday lives of Kyiv’s residents and those in the suburbs, and try to understand what opportunities the city’s inhabitants had to survive the Holodomor.
