A committee of the Spanish Parliament adopted a resolution recognising the Holodomor as genocide

The Foreign Affairs Committee of the lower house of the Spanish Parliament supported the resolution regarding the official recognition of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as an act of genocide against the Ukrainian people.

It is known about 29 votes “for”, 4 – “against”, 1 deputy abstained. The resolution was introduced by MP Carlos Flores from the Vox party.

The document also calls on the government to continue comprehensive support for Ukraine “to protect its democracy and territorial integrity from the Russian authoritarian regime.”
