Journalists from Latin American countries visited the Museum

10 September 2024

On Tuesday, September 10, 2024, mass media representatives from Latin America visited the Holodomor Museum. Media representatives arrived in Kyiv at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. The purpose of the visit is to promote a deeper understanding of the consequences of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine among the countries of the Latin American and Caribbean region, as well as to establish direct contacts of Latin American journalists with representatives of the Ukrainian authorities and civil society to obtain reliable information.

The group included journalists from nine countries: Argentina, Brazil, Guatemala, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Chile. At the Holodomor Museum, guests commemorated the Ukrainians who died during the Holodomor and listened to a tour of the Hall of Memory. During their visit to the museum, they learned more about the Holodomor genocide in Ukraine, organised by the Soviet regime centred in Moscow. Knowledge of the Ukrainian past and the relations between Ukraine and Russia in historical retrospect will help representatives of foreign mass media understand the preconditions of modern Russian aggression better.

Let us remind you that in May, the first group of media representatives from Latin America visited the Holodomor Museum.
