The Holodomor Museum will share its experience as part of a free course for cultural workers
The Holodomor Museum joined the new free online course “Heritage for social cohesion during the war: cases of Ukrainian cultural workers”.
Prometheus, in cooperation with the Partnership for Strong Ukraine Foundation, announced its launch. In this course, our museum will present module 5: “Memorialization: working with historical memory and experiences of war.”
The course is now open for registration.
The online course is designed for local cultural operators (museums, libraries, local history museums, etc.), public organisations, local self-government bodies, departments and departments of culture, as well as representatives of the global professional community. It will also be useful to local activists and all concerned citizens of Ukraine who seek to cooperate with cultural operators.
During the course, students will learn:
- How can one respond to unusual challenges and work with complex topics during the general turbulence due to war?
- What new tools are necessary to engage with communities on matters of cultural identity during crisis times?
- How can one implement their experience through horizontal exchange between training participants?
- How can one maintain a proactive role in the decommunization and formation of public space processes on this topic in communities?
- What are the action plans for cultural operators displaced from the occupied territories regarding the continuation of work, preservation of their heritage, and cooperation with the new community?
- How can one identify new goals in constantly changing conditions?
- How can one remain flexible and meet the demands of a changing society?
Cultural operators are professionals working in the fields of culture and art. They contribute to the development of creative processes, the preservation of cultural heritage, and the formation of cultural identity. Investing in the development of cultural operators is crucial for society’s sustainability, support, and enrichment.
