Day of Remembrance for the Holodomor Victims – 2025. Despite the drizzle, hundreds of people came to the Holodomor Museum. They participated in an interfaith prayer service alongside the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, His Beatitude Epiphanius, and the Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, His Beatitude Sviatoslav. At 4 p.m., they joined the All-Ukrainian campaign ‘Candle of Memory’. Third President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the International Charitable Foundation of the Holodomor Museum Ivan Vasiunyk, Deputy Minister of Culture Ivan Verbytskyi, Director General of the National Museum of the Holodomor Genocide Lesia Hasydzhak, Chairman of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance Oleksandr Alfiorov, People’s Deputy Volodymyr Viatrovych, and representatives of the World Congress of Ukrainians participated in the commemorative events.
On this day, Symphony No. 3 “In Memory of the Victims of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine” by composer Mykola Dremliuha and songs by the folk choir “Homin” were performed live by the ensemble in the Hall of Memory. An exhibition of paintings about the Holodomor by artist Mariia Barynova-Kuleba is also on display in the Hall of Memory.
