History Lab for Teens: Create Historical Comic Book!
Have you ever studied history by creating comic books?
Holodomor Museum launches History Lab, an educational program for teens. Together with museum team, the participants will step by step study the history of genocide of Ukrainian people, and then they will create comics. The world of history will appear through sketches, pictures, and text!
Professional comicsmaker of the program is Krystyna Khara, comic books editor, scriptwriter, curator of comic books intensive cources and co-founder of Lucky Academy comic book school. She went into comic books while studying in University of the Arts London. She also has 5 eyars of experience in teaching.
Project manager is Yana Horodniak, head of Tour and Education Department of the museum.
During 6 lessons, we will study the history of the 1920–30s,
- hear the voices of the eyewitnesses of this events,
- discover who and why organized the Holodomor,
- explore how these events changed the lives of Ukrainians
and write the story which will be turned into a comic book! After the course, every participant will receive a paper copy of the comic book created!
✏️Audience: teens of 11–15 years old
✏️When: each Friday (starting from April 3)
✏️Beginning: 16:00
✏️Course length: 6 lessons
✏️Where: Holodomor Museum, 3 Lavrska Street (10 minutes from “Arsenalna” metro station)
✏️Price: UAH 550 (UAH 90 for 1 lesson).
