Political scientist Taras Kuzio donated part of his book collection to the museum
Today, 3 February, Taras Kuzio, a well-known British political scientist of Ukrainian origin, researcher of political processes in Eastern Europe and the Soviet period, professor at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, and doctor of political science, visited the Holodomor Museum.
Mr Taras is the author and co-author of over twenty books, as well as numerous articles published in leading international publishing houses and academic journals. These include publications on the Holodomor, Ukrainian-Russian relations and current Russian imperial policy. During his research, the scholar has assembled a considerable library, part of which he has now officially donated to the Holodomor Museum. It consists of 85 copies of publications in Ukrainian and English on the Holodomor and the crimes of the communist regime. Most of the books were published in the early 1990s and are now rare. The list also includes many books published in the diaspora in the 1950s–1980s, when the Holodomor topic was banned in the Soviet Union. Taras Kuzio decided to donate his books after the museum approached him with a request to acquire some of his works. And unexpectedly, we received part of his personal library! As the scholar explained, the publications he had already worked on should not sit idle on the shelf, but should be available to a wide range of scholars. We are sincerely grateful to Mr Taras Kuzio for his generous gift!
Deputy Director General Hanna Sokyrina and Library Director Olha Patselia welcomed the guest. After signing the documents for donating the books, Taras Kuzio was shown the museum’s library and given a short tour.
