Scouts brought the Bethlehem Light to the Museum
On December 19, 2024, the Ukrainian scout organisation Plast handed over to the Holodomor Museum the Bethlehem Peace Light, which travels around the world on the eve of Christmas.
This tradition started in 1976 to support those in hospitals or orphanages who need support and help. Today, this symbolic action has acquired a different scale and new meaning: Scout organisations spread the Peace Light worldwide as a symbol of warmth, peace, unity, and the Christmas miracle. It is welcome in every organisation and every home. And we are sincerely grateful to the Ukrainian scouts who share this light of hope with us every year.
A large lamp with the Bethlehem Light will burn throughout the day near the sculpture “Bitter Memory of Childhood”. Come and light the Christmas fire in your lamps!
