The museum participated in the festival “Arsenal of Ideas. Different Together”
On 19 September, the Holodomor Museum once again joined the festival Arsenal of Ideas. Different Together, organised by the Mystetskyi Arsenal. Our colleagues from the education department held a master class on creating posters using the collage technique.
The participants analysed several Soviet posters from the 1930s as evidence that art can sometimes convey more to the viewer than the artist or their client intended. They also discussed colours and their symbolism, exploring the emotions that blue, yellow, and black evoke in us.
The theme of the poster was ‘Ukrainian Space.’ Everyone had the opportunity to fantasise about Ukraine, its past and future, its beauty, strength, and people. Among the participants were children, teenagers, and adults. Everyone created their own original and colourful poster. ‘I am glad that I was able to contribute to art by creating a collage,’ one of the participants shared her impressions.
