As a result of shelling in Ukraine, one school or hospital is destroyed or damaged every day
As a result of the hostilities, an average of one school, hospital or clinic is damaged or destroyed every day in Ukraine. Denise Brown, Humanitarian Coordinator of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, made such data public, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
Every day in Ukraine, on average, a school, hospital, clinic, small or large, is damaged or destroyed. This is the data that the UN has. So this is quite significant data. Hospitals are under special protection under international humanitarian law because that’s where people apply for services. This is not part of the war,” Brown emphasised.
She added that these attacks are a gross violation of international humanitarian law.

Let us remind you that the deliberate destruction of infrastructure facilities that provide essential services for people (in particular, facilities that provide water, electricity, heating, communication, medical facilities, food warehouses, and residential and educational infrastructure) are actions aimed at creating living conditions intended for the complete or partial destruction of a group. This is not only a violation of human and child rights stipulated by the relevant UN declarations but also evidence of the genocidal intent of the aggressor state.
