During the occupation, the Russians prevent children from studying in Ukrainian schools

In the occupied territories of the Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk, and Donetsk regions, Russian forces are conducting checks on families with children. They are particularly interested in the children’s education, including where and how they study. The invaders check parents’ phones to look for applications used for online studying. All educational applications are banned, except for a specific Russian one for children living within a 15-kilometre zone from the combat line. The “Yellow Ribbon” movement reported this.

Every city and district has underground chat rooms where people post links to online learning and various resources that allow children to gain knowledge. The Russians, meanwhile, are constantly looking for people who have not received a Russian passport and who have Ukrainian literature.

And not only literature – clothes, shoes, and even yellow and blue threads – for all this, people are accused of extremism, espionage, discrediting the Russian army, fines are issued, and in some places, people are abducted.

“So, addressing everyone who is on free Ukrainian land. Remember that having unimpeded access to Knowledge is a luxury to be cherished. Many of our compatriots do not have such a luxury now,” the Yellow Ribbon emphasises.
