State Virginia has become the 18th state that joined the commemoration of the 85th anniversary of Holodomor-genocide of 1932-1933 in Ukraine, according to the Facebook page of the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States.
The Governor of Virginia, Ralph Northam, issued the proclamation, in which Holodomor is recognized as a genocide: “The Soviet leader J. Stalin and his totalitarian regime committed an act of genocide by artificially creating starvation through the confiscations of land, grain and animals from the Ukrainian people.”
Recall that the US Senate recognized Holodomor of 1932-1933 as the genocide of the Ukrainian people.
