Ukrainian parliamentarians called on their colleagues from Cyprus and Slovakia to recognise the Holodomor as genocide
25 April 2023
Recognising the Holodomor as genocide is one of the main topics at the Conference of Heads of Parliaments of EU countries with the participation of Ukraine.
The conference began on April 24, Ukraine is represented by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk. During the first days, meetings were held with the Speaker of the Parliament of Cyprus and the Speaker of the Parliament of Slovakia. At these meetings, the Ukrainian side called on countries to recognise the Holodomor as a genocide of the Ukrainian people.
The issue of recognising the Holodomor as genocide is one of the key issues for Ukrainian diplomacy in recent years. We support the efforts of Ukrainian representatives abroad to restore historical justice.
