Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov denies Ukraine’s independence

The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergey Lavrov, the day after the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, cynically called on the Armed Forces of Ukraine to lay down their arms. He repeated the Kremlin’s thesis that Russia allegedly came to Ukrainian territories “to carry out demilitarization and denazification,” and that, apparently, no one is going to occupy Ukraine.

According to Lavrov, Ukraine is “under foreign control” and is being used as a tool to deter Russia. This external influence allegedly encourages neo-Nazism and the genocide of Russians.

On February 25, 2022, Russian propagandist Olga Skabeeva published a video with Lavrov’s statement on social networks.
