We invite you to the discussion “Missions and challenges: cultural institutions of Ukraine during the war”
What do Ukrainian museums face during a full-scale invasion? We invite you to discuss it at the “Missions and challenges: cultural institutions of Ukraine during the war” already on Saturday, October 21. The meeting will take place in the Odessa National Art Museum.
Ukrainian muses are not silent during the war, and cultural institutions face such challenges that they would rather not know about. The rescue of cultural heritage in the conditions of bureaucratic chaos, the general message “Not in time!” awareness of the museum’s missions as a space of mental indomitability – all this forces us to look for new approaches to activities during the war.
Is it possible to prevent the catastrophe of the failure of cultural development? Can the cultural sector develop a new model of relations with the state today? We will talk about all this with the participants of the discussion:
• Lesia Hasydzhak, Acting Director General of the National Museum of the Holodomor-genocide;
• Olena Honcharuk, Acting Director General of Dovzhenko Centre.
Moderator of the meeting: Oksana Dovhopolova, curator of the memory culture platform Past / Future / Art.
