Russian actor Mykhailo Porechenkov supported Russia’s criminal full-scale invasion of Ukraine. On 12 March, the actor published a video on social networks in which he is reading a poem about the war in Donbas, the author of which is unknown for certain. After reading the poem, Porechenkov laconically noted, “Work, brothers,” apparently addressing these words to the Russian occupiers.
Later, Porechenkov recorded more videos to “support the fighting spirit” of the Russian invaders and also visited the wounded occupiers in hospitals multiple times to support them. During such visits, he expressed his gratitude to the invaders “for what they are doing” and wished that the aggressor country Russia would defeat Ukraine in the war.
When Russian dictator Vladimir Putin announced the so-called “partial” mobilization in Russia in September 2022, Porechenkov supported the decision and called on Russians to “complete their duty to the motherland.” He himself is not subject to mobilization due to his age – he is 53 years old, but the actor stated in a comment to the Russian propaganda media that he would allegedly be ready to go fight against the Ukrainians as a volunteer.
