Andrey Gurulev, deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and lieutenant general
Andrey Gurulev is a lieutenant general of the Russian Armed Forces and a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation. From the autumn of 2014 to the spring of 2015, he organised the fighting of the Russian occupiers in eastern Ukraine. For this, he received the rank of “lieutenant general” and was awarded the Order of Courage. Since 2021, he has been a deputy of the State Duma and has supported the independence of the pseudo-republics of “L/DPR.”
Since the onset of the Russian Federation’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Gurulev has been a regular on propaganda TV channels in Russia, actively commenting on the course of hostilities, the situation in the Russian Federation, the world, and the armed forces.
In June 2022, he stated that allegedly “the threat to the world comes from the Anglo-Saxons” and openly threatened London with military action.
In an interview with Russian media, he stated that “the Armed Forces of Ukraine are killing civilians.”
In October 2022, after the Russian Federation’s strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities, he rejoiced on Russian television that Ukrainians were without electricity or water. He said that Ukraine could collapse after this and called on the occupiers to continue in the same spirit – supposedly, it is “effective.”
