Ministry of Culture of Ukraine together with Holodomor Victims Memorial prepared a series of videos about Holodomor witnesses
To the 85th anniversary of the Holodomor, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine presented the first video of the series “Bitter Wormwood. Black Shadow of 1932-1933”. The project, prepared jointly with the National Museum “Holodomor Victims Memorial”, is aimed to film Holodomor eyewitness who still live in Ukrainian villages and cities. From October to November 2018, employees of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine recorded evidence of about 20 Holodomor witnesses who now live in the Kyiv and Cherkasy regions.
“Next week we will show a whole series of unique stories of people who survived hell of 1932-1933 and saw the death. They tell painful stories, their eyes are full of sorrow forever, and their destinies are the lessons to be learned by modern generations in order not to allow the repetition of this terrible crime against humanity – the Holodomor-genocide,” the press service of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine reports.
