The Holodomor Museum will provide materials and academic guidance to the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE) to support research into the intergenerational consequences of the Holodomor. The Museum’s Director General, Lesia Hasydzhak, and the University’s Rector, Tymofii Brik, signed the relevant memorandum of cooperation.
The 1932–1933 Holodomor in Ukraine inflicted deep psychological, demographic and socio-cultural trauma, which was passed on from the survivors to their children and grandchildren. Using the Museum’s database and other sources, researchers will study and analyse the histories of specific families who survived the Holodomor to determine how the tragedy of genocide affected subsequent generations at a biological level, their epigenetics and psychobiological adaptation.
