My dear Beile.

I have received yesterday afternoon your air mail letter of the 9/5/33.

There were no letters from Jerry this week to me.

As regards the detention of the Moscow Daily News copies from Jerry, and which have been sent on to Pretoria from Capetown. I really cannot help smiling over it. I suppose they contain the famous Metro-Vicker trial, and this would account for these being detained.

I have written and herewith enclose a letter to the Pretoria Post Office, which together with the advise from Capetown you will, I suppose, have to attach the two together and post these on to Pretoria. I do not suppose that you will get it, anyhow. It is however interesting to see as to whether they will return same or not.

I have not seen the Moscow News for a very long time, and as a matter of fact, I have given up reading that  kind of stuff for a very long time. I have, however, been told that they do not allow this paper to come through, anymore. To what extent this is so, I do not know . If this is correct, it will account for their not delivering the above paper.

In any case, I very much doubt, if you will get this paper from Pretoria, and accordingly the application, is but a sheer waste of time.

It is however a very stupid way of doing things, for it makes a person so inquisitive, since it is nothing but violent propaganda, and one must be a dupe to believe it.

It is terrible “muck” of course, and I suppose there are fools who will believe it, and hence the reason for their stopping same.

Я отримав учора вдень авіапоштою твій лист від 05.09.33.

Цього тижня мені не надходило листів від Джеррі.

Що стосується затримання копій газети Moscow Daily News від Джеррі, які були переслані до Преторії з Кейптауна. Я дійсно не можу не усміхатися з цього. Я припускаю, що в них йдеться про справу "Метро-Віккерс", і це могло б пояснити їхню затримку.

Я написав і цим додаю листа до поштового відділення Преторії, який разом із порадою з Кейптауна вам, мабуть, доведеться об'єднати їх обоє разом і надіслати до Преторії. Я не думаю, що ви все одно це отримаєте. Однак цікаво подивитися, чи повернуться вони такими ж, чи ні.
