Museum staff have received letters of appreciation from the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture
The employees of the National Museum of the Holodomor Genocide received letters of appreciation from the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine. This took place on 18 May 2026, to mark International Museum Day, at the Taras Shevchenko National Museum, attended by the Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy of Ukraine, Minister of Culture of Ukraine Tetiana Berezhna, and First Deputy Minister of Culture Ivan Verbytskyi.
Those honoured include tour guides Iryna Kolosova, Halyna Holubieva, Yana Horodniak (PhD in History) and Olha Vyhodovanets; Head of the Department of Oral History of the Holodomor, Yuliia Kotsur, PhD; Head of the Department for the Study of Genocide, Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes, Mykhailo Kostiv, PhD; and Senior Research Fellow at the Department for the Study of the Holodomor and Man-Made Famine, Nataliia Romanets, PhD; Nataliia Romanets, Senior Research Fellow of the Department for the Study of Genocide, Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes, Candidate of Historical Sciences Andrii Kozytskyi, Chief Archivist, Candidate of Historical Sciences Maryna Pryn, Chief Accountant Viktoriia Kulibaba, staff of the Human Resources, Military Records and Administration Section Olena Mishchenko and Iryna Umrikhina, Chief Engineer Oleksandr Voitenko, Museum Lawyer Mariana Moroz and Deputy Director General Hanna Sokyrina.
“Despite all the challenges posed by a full-scale war, Ukrainian museums and heritage sites continue to operate. You safeguard collections, document our history, open new exhibitions, and help our children understand who they are, where we stand, and what we wish to pass on. The Ministry of Culture of Ukraine greatly values your work and understands the importance of supporting the museum sector,” emphasised Tetiana Berezhna in her speech.
