THE 86TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE HOLODOMOR-GENOCIDE

1932–1933. Ukraine. The Soviet Union commits a large crime of genocide against Ukrainians. More than 7 million victims.  Abandoned villages and the collective psychological trauma of survivors. Years of silence and lies.

Today, Ukraine is a sovereign and independent state, and we, its people, are choosing the path our country will follow in the future. But only by knowing history, researching and analyzing it, can we resist hate, uphold human rights and prevent any intolerance.

The National Holodomor-Genocide Museum is a center for honoring the Holodomor victims and the only national museum of the history of genocide of Ukrainians. It has prepared educational, exhibition and scientific projects for the 86th anniversary of this crime.

November 7, 2019, 3:00 pm, Holodomor Museum – presentation of the exhibition of participants of the Children’s Art Contest “MEMORY OF THE FUTURE” to the 86th anniversary of the Holodomor of 1932–33 in Ukraine and the awarding of winners (in partnership with International Charitable Foundation for Development of Holodomor Victims Memorial). The works of talented young people can be seen in the Hall of Memory from November 7 to 23, 2019.

Choose your own way of honoring the memory of the victims of the Holodomor and become part of a nationwide effort.

  • You can bring the memories of the Holodomor survivors, information on the mass graves of the Holodomor victims, children’s shelters in 1932–-1933, and the names of Holodomor victims to the museum.
  • Each institution can exhibit one of the museum exhibitions for temporary display.
