Educational movie about the Holodomor for Donetsk region
As it was planned, on October 26, 2017, the National Museum “Holodomor victims Memorial” presented the educational movie “Covering the Holodomor: Memory Eternal” to the educators and museum workers of Donetsk region in Kramatorsk.
The event took place in the Kramatorsk Public Library. Visitors to the event were interested in issues related to the subject of Holodomor for different age groups of children and the peculiarities of the Holodomor processes in Donbas’s. After the show and discussion, all guests received a copy of the movie as a gift that will help them in teaching history of the Ukrainian nation genocide1932-1933.
The movie raises the issues of press responsibility in illuminating or concealing of the crimes. The movie answers the question: “Why didn’t the world know about Holodomor for so long?” The movie was made for the school age audience, recommended for use on history lessons; it was created by the Canadian Museum for Human Rights in cooperation with the National Museum “Holodomor victims Memorial”.
