The number of countries that recognised the Holodomor as genocide is increasing

30 June 2023

To date, 27 countries have recognised the Holodomor as an act of genocide against Ukrainians. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, announced that. Only after November 2022 did twelve states this.

“I am thanking them for having heard our pleas and inviting others to join. The recognition honours the victims and warns future generations to prevent the genocide.” Dmytro Kuleba emphasised.

It is worth adding that a number of other countries have also begun the process of recognising the Holodomor as genocide — the relevant decisions were adopted there by one of the chambers of the bicameral parliament.
