Ukrainians in Egypt joined the international action "Let's Light a Candle of Memory!"

According to the report of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Arab Republic of Egypt, the International Action “Let’s Light a Candle of Memory” was held in Cairo.

“On October 27, Ukrainians in Egypt joined the international action “Let’s Light a Candle of Memory!”. 

The event was attended by families of Ukrainians who are permanently or temporarily residing in Egypt, employees of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Arab Republic of Egypt and the representatives of the Ukrainian companies. 

In their speeches and memoirs, the participants of the action noted that the whole world in these days is commemorating the innocent victims killed during the Holodomor-genocide. They called on the participants of the event to keep a memory of this terrible tragedy in order to prevent a repeat of such in the future. 

The community mentioned the names of 85 children from the list of millions of victims who were killed by the supporters of the Stalinist regime and honored their memory with a minute of silence.

Children and adults read the poems of the Ukrainian authors about the Holodomor and the memories of eyewitnesses of this tragic page in the history of the Ukrainian nation. 

On September 1, the action “Let`s Light a Candle of Memory!” started at the National Museum “Holodomor Victims Memorial”.
