Interactive lesson “The Hiding Place” (for children 6–12 years old)
Audience: children 6–12 years old.
We offer the first acquaintance with the theme of the Holodomor in the form of an interactive lesson with the game elements. During the lesson, the lecturer will talk to the participants about the events that took place almost 100 years ago, about the life of Ukrainians in the Soviet Union, about the Holodomor genocide of 1932–1933 in Ukraine, organized by a communist totalitarian regime, and about the traditions of the commemoration of the Holodomor victims.
The main hero of the game—12-year-old Katrusia—tries to avoid danger, find food and survive the Holodomor. Participants help her by completing the tasks and learning about certain aspects of the preconditions and course of the Holodomor: what is a “collective farm”, how Soviet authorities confiscated all food, what people ate, what “torgsins” were, why Ukrainians were forced to leave home in search of food, etc. When children complete the task successfully, they receive grain and put it into a “hiding place” for Katrusia.
To register for the lesson, please call (044) 254-45-11.
The lesson costs 230 UAH for a group of up to 5 people and 600 UAH for a group of up to 12 people. The participants must also buy entrance tickets to the museum.
