Dmitriy Pevtsov, actor and deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation
Russian actor and deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Dmitriy Pevtsov, distinguished himself with his anti-Ukrainian statements even before Russia’s large-scale war against Ukraine. Just on the eve of the large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he spoke unkindly about our country and claimed that in our country, “a whole generation of Russophobes has already grown up.”
On the second day of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, Pevtsov declared that “Putin is stopping the genocide in Donbas” and that Russians should support the Russian dictator in this decision. According to a member of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Putin allegedly did not start the war but sent his troops into Ukraine to end the war. At the same time, the deputy compared the dictator himself to a “surgeon” who performs a significant operation on a “patient”, i.e. Ukraine. This statement was made by Peskov in his speech via video link to his “colleagues in the shop” during an emergency meeting of the working group of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation on countering the spread of unreliable information on the Internet.
During a concert at the Luzhniki stadium in Moscow on March 18, 2022, Pevtsov said that he hopes to hold a new parade in the Russian capital – where Russians, Ukrainians and Belarusians will be, whom he calls the “multinational Russian people.”
Pevtsov called for support for the Russian dictator Putin and repeated the narratives spread by the Kremlin that the war against Ukraine “fully complies with international law.” In addition, he constantly assured that the war was allegedly started not by Russia but by “Nazis who settled in Ukraine.”
During a speech to the mobilised occupiers in October 2022, Pevtsov one more time proclaimed Kremlin propaganda. He told the mobilised that they were going to fight “against the evil forces” and that supposedly “satanic forces” would fight against them.
