Vladimir Sungorkin (died on September 14, 2022) was the editor-in-chief of the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper, a Soviet and Russian journalist, communist, and propagandist.

He spread anti-Ukrainian and anti-Western propaganda in one of the most popular Russian mass media and justified the war crimes of the Russian occupiers in Ukraine.

He repeatedly expressed his support for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. He approved the illegal annexation of Crimea. He said that during the so-called “referendum” in Crimea, he had been on the peninsula and seen “happy people.”

On the eve of a full-scale invasion, the Russian Federation claimed that “there are no good scenarios at all for Ukraine.”
