Educational online event to the International Museum Day | The Story of One Diary
May 18 is International Museum Day. On this occasion, our team is launching a series of educational online events. We want you to be able to join the World Day, which unites cultural institutions and their employees, both in Kyiv and in any settlement of Ukraine and abroad.
Date / time: May 13, 2021, at 4:00 p.m.
Lesson: The Story of One Diary
Audience: students of 9–11 grades
About the online event: Students will learn to work with archival sources, sources of personal origin (diaries), visual sources (photos), learn about the main aspects of the policy of the communist totalitarian regime (collectivization and dekulakization) and the situation of Ukrainians in 1930–1933 (in particular, during the Holodomor-genocide of 1932–1933) through the prism of the memoirs of Oleksandra Radchenko, a teacher from the Kharkiv region.
The event is free with prior registration.
To attend the educational class, register at the link (number of places is limited): https://bit.ly/2R1yYgr
The theme of International Museum Day 2021 is “The Future of Museums: Restoration and Rethinking”. During lockdowns and quarantines, we rethought the work and role of museums and learned to communicate differently with our visitors.
And while nothing can replace the visitor’s experience at the museum, we can learn more through digital technology by attending lectures and workshops and communicating with museum workers online.
See all educational events on our Facebook page.
You can also visit the Holodomor Museum free of charge on International Museum Day.
We work from 10:00 to 18:00 at the address: Kyiv, 3 Lavrska Street. To book an excursion, educational lesson for schoolchildren or students, to learn about the audio guide in 33 languages, follow the link: https://holodomormuseum.org.ua/zaplanuvaty-vizyt/
