Presentation of the book by Natalia Romanets in Kryvyi Rih
On Thursday, September 7, 2023, on the basis of the Kryvyi Rih State Pedagogical University, the presentation of the book “Mechanisms of the Creation of the Holodomor: the grain procurement campaigns of 1931-1933 in the Dnipropetrovsk Region: a collection of documents and materials” by Natalia Romanets, a doctor of historical sciences, associate professor, professor of the Department of History of the KDPU, leading researcher of the National Museum of the Holodomor-genocide, will take place.
The collection includes documents and materials of the regional and district press from the funds of the State Archives of the Dnipropetrovsk Region, Dmytro Yavornytsky Historical Museum of Dnipropetrovsk, V. I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine, which characterize the genocidal mechanisms of organizing the grain procurement campaigns of 1931–1933. p. in the Dnipropetrovsk region, which led to the total food seizure from the peasants and, hence, to the Holodomor of 1932–1933. Most of the presented documents were kept under the label “Secret” and have been published for the first time after declassification. The publication contains an introductory article, an archeographic preface, comments on documents, and indexes.
The book is intended for scientists, teachers, students and everyone interested in the history of Ukraine in the 20th century, agrarian history, and local history.
