Action "Let`s Light a Candle of Memory!" in China
On September 5, 2018, the employees of the Embassy of Ukraine in the People’s Republic of China, their family members and the representatives of Ukrainian community in Beijing joined the International Action “Let`s Light a Candle of Memory!”, which commemorates the 85th anniversary of the Holodomor of 1932-1933, reports the Embassiy of Ukraine in the People’s Republic of China on their official Facebook page.
“Having taken a symbolic candle of memory from Iraq, the participants of the event, which took place near the Orthodox chapel on the territory of the Ukrainian diplomatic mission, by the minute of silence paid tribute to the memory of children killed by a criminal Stalinist regime with terrible death – hunger,” the message tells.
The event was held near the Orthodox chapel on the territory of the Ukrainian diplomatic mission in Beijing.
The participants of the action commemorated the Ukrainians who died during the Holodomor of 1932-1933 and also received information brochures about one of the most terrible crimes of the twentieth century.
To recall, a candle of memory was lit in the capital of Jordan.
On September 1, the action ” Let`s Light a Candle of Memory!” began at the National Museum “Holodomor Victims Memorial”.
